Paper overview

Abstract

Blockchain technology, as a distributed ledger technology, is based on a decentralised management structure that is designed to prevent data from being tampered with. It offers high levels of security and reliability. In order to ensure the security of such data, the digital signature technology has an important role in the identity authentication, anti-resistance and tamper-proof characteristics. Each block in the blockchain contains a summary of the information of a block. By hashing each block in the blockchain, the integrity of the data can be verified. In the digital signature technology, only those with a legal private key can communicate the data normally. However, when the data exchanged by the blockchain is too large, it will cause a huge time overhead of the system, so the use of batch verification algorithm has great practical significance. Compared with the popular DSA, RSA, and ECDSA digital signature batch verification algorithms, ECDSA has the characteristics of short key, elliptic curve algorithm, and difficult to decrypt. This paper proposes an improved ECDSA digital signature batch verification algorithm, in which n messages will be verified as a whole. Consequently, the n signature operations can be reduced to a single operation. The experimental and computational results show that this method provides robust security and significantly reduces computational time.
