UJI RECALL AND PRECISION SISTEM TEMU KEMBALI INFORMASI OPAC PERPUSTAKAAN ITS SURABAYA

This study aims to determine the recall and precision of information retrieval system using the subject field in the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) in the Library of the Institute of Technology Surabaya. And to investigate the effectiveness of information retrieval system with test results of recall and precision in ITS Library OPAC. So do remediation efforts and policies when found obstacles / barriers when using search tools OPAC information. This study was a descriptive quantitative research using the method of analysis, or the so-called descriptive analysis. The study was conducted using a sample of 100 collections as 116 subjects were taken by systematic random sampling. From the test results obtained by the recall and precision of 0.87 and recall value and precision value of 0.70. Because they found some obstacles at the time of the search information, such as a subject that is not listed, the subject of writing errors, and writing subjects inconsistent. However the results showed that the system was nearing ITS Library OPAC ideal effectiveness.
