Abstract
Damath is a combination of Filipino Checkers (Dama) and mathematics, popular in the Philippines for its educational value in reinforcing mathematical concepts. Unlike standard Checkers, Damath lacks formal computational rule-sets, which hinders reproducible computational study and software development. This paper explores that gap by providing a computational specification of Damath. I first discuss the difference between Damath and standard Checkers. Then, I outline the standard mechanics, objectives, and scoring systems of the game. The game is then formalized as a discrete, deterministic environment using the tuple ⟨S, A, T,R⟩, representing the state space, action space, transition function, and reward function. This formalization is intended to serve as a foundation for computational modeling, artificial intelligence development, and digital implementations of Damath.
