Abstract
[EN] According to Gillespie et al. (2025), 58% of the employees use AI on a regular basis and a third of them on a weekly basis; 83% of the students use AI on a regular basis in their studies; socioeconomic variables (18-34 years, higher income, university education, management jobs) and AI training are likely to increase the usage of AI; both employees and students reported AI-related benefits and also mixed effects. Giuntella et al. (2025) found that AI had no negative effect on workers’ well-being while other studies (Orden-Mejía et al., 2023; Yu, 2025) showed that AI users’ satisfaction depended on the motives/gratifications expected. Gillespie et al. (2025) found no gender differences, adding to the mixed evidence on the relationship between gender and technology engagement (Bouzar et al., 2024; Romero-Rodríguez et al., 2023), and inviting more nuanced gender approaches. Within a Uses and Gratification framework (Katz & Blumer, 1973/1974), this research analyzes the usage of AI for professional and academic motives and AI users’ satisfaction level with a focus on gender and age differences, in the Spanish context (Rahman et al., 2025)
