A Practice of Radiation Education Using Interactive Electronic Books for Elementary School Students

We performed a practice of education of ionizing radiation, using interactive electronic books and reasonable accommodation, measurement of ionizing radiation and production of a simple cloud chamber for elementary school students. Using the electronic book and accessibility features of iPad, we were teaching about key properties and technology of ionizing radiation. Our school students made great contributions to the class experiments as teaching assistants. From the results of a student questionnaire given after the practice, about 92-100% of the elementary school students had acquired basic knowledge of the subject, about 76-85% thought the great fear of radiation have been dispelled. Additionally, a lot of elementary school students interested in the effects of ionizing radiation on the human body.
