Abstract

This paper explores latest research and development of dispensing technology with an added focus on sensors in medication boxes to design Medication Monitoring System using Arduino Microcontroller. By letting the system notify patients about their need to take medication immediately and by alerting the caregivers whenever they have not taken their dose, it minimizes the uncertainty of non-adherence, cutting health threats associated with the practice and alleviating both patient and caregiver concerns. With sensor and IoT integration, it enhances precision and efficiency in the timely uptake of drugs. It smoothens the route to medication management where patients and caregivers monitor patterns of adherence, making amendments to their schedules as needed. The technology empowers both parties with real-time data on usage of medication for informed decision-making regarding treatment plans. In fact, the scalable technology can significantly boost the adherence rates of chronic patients, reduce hospital readmissions and improve the health outcomes. The use of predictive analytics will allow it to predict potential issues of non-adherence and have proactive interventions. Ultimately, the innovative solution improves patient safety and generally enhances efficiency and saves costs for patients and providers.
