Paper overview
Abstract
Summary In this paper, we present results from an airborne electromagnetic (AEM) survey over the Splinter Rock prospect in southern Western Australia for exploration of rare earth elements (REE). We show that AEM can be an effective tool for locating extent and thickness of the clay hosts that contain the REEs, and use the AEM to develop a geological interpretation of the Centre deposit. Drilling assays from the area correspond well to the AEM results, indicating that the Centre deposit is a potential site for future extraction of rare earth oxides.
