Abstract

Search Engines are one of the important facilities used to facilitate users in searching information especially information from web documents available in internet. Without the help of search engines, users need to know the address of the intended web page to open certain web pages. Almost everyone uses search engines to search for information on the internet, no exception children. This can be worrying especially since most search engines are designed by and for adults in search of information. The wide variety of information available on the internet ranging from safe to insecure to children led to the need for specialized search engines designed specifically for the search for information appropriate for children. In this search engine, using the concept of Information Retrieval with Document Filtering as a pornography media filtering, so it is safe for children to use. Document filtering uses the Naive Bayes algorithm for the learning process in document categorization, where the information accessible to children is categorized as “safe” and which can't be accessed by children categorized as “unsafe”. It is hoped that with this search engine application, it can help the child in searching for information safely although not accompanied by his parents.
