Paper overview
Abstract
This paper focuses on the security of low-resource connected objects. In order to ensure the security of communications with these connected objects, most cryptographic protocols use lightweight encryption algorithms adapted to the context of low-resource equipment. This article first presents the most widely used lightweight encryption algorithms, then analyzes lightweight AES block ciphers such as LAES, and finally proposes a new lightweight encryption algorithm derived from AES called R-LAES. The R-LAES algorithm optimizes energy consumption while improving security level compared to the LAES algorithm.
