Abstract
The integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) into higher education has triggered a profound transformation of the educational ecosystem. This paper presents the results of an empirical study conducted among 114 students and 104 university instructors in Ukraine, revealing both the widespread adoption of AI tools and a series of critical risks — notably the erosion of critical thinking, breaches of academic integrity, and the decline of students’ cognitive autonomy.
