Abstract

Background: Photovoltaic systems are gaining prominence due to their energy efficiency and environment-friendly characteristics, gaining a place as the most favored method since the cost of putting them up decreases and efficiency increases. Most of the habitual techniques employed for maximum power point tracking are efficient for constant climatic conditions but suffer issues such as partial shading, which means that they sometimes get stuck in a local maximum. Methods: However, some frameworks have been created in order to tackle these problems; still, enhancing the speed at which the convergence reaches the highest is yet possible. Results: This work will, therefore, provide a CGWOPSO optimizer that will ensure the endless and accurate rotation of the solar panel in any harsh weather conditions. The overall comprehensive experimental validation comprising both uniform and non-uniform weather conditions acknowledges the increased tracking efficiency and speed of the new method. The efficiency of power tracked with the proposed CGWOPSO algorithm is in the order of 98% under different shading patterns.
