Abstract

The mineralogical and geochemical features of placer gold from the Cretaceous conglomerates of the central part of the Aldan-Stanovy shield have been studied for the first time. It was found that pseudo-ore gold was found in the placer gold of flake and lamellar shape, which is up to 80%. Pseudo-ore gold includes native gold, mainly 0.1-0.25 in size, single grains of interstitial, lumpy and lamellar shape with a typical pitted-tubercular surface with casts of impressing of minerals of the host deposits. Sometimes pseudo-ore gold forms aggregates - intergrowths with quartz and other minerals, single gold particles with through holes and small-scale faults are found. The identification of pseudo-ore gold in the Cretaceous conglomerates indicates the transformation of placer gold in sedimentary deposits, and not the superimposed late ore mineralization.
