Abstract

Decision Support System (DSS) is expected to help decision-makers, to provide several considerations based on some scientific methods. However, some DSS methods have not been able to overcome the situation where there are some criteria and several assessors who at the same time provide an assessment. One of the applications of DSS is in the selection of Outstanding Academic Administration Staff with the following criteria: Curriculum Vitae, prestigious creative works, initiative, and Self Description. How the designed DSS can accommodate different assessments from the assessment team and how the designed DSS can also accept the assessments expressed in the form of linguistic variables. In general, if it does not involve many assessment teams, then this can be used with the Technique for Order Performance of Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method and assessment in the form of simple linguistic variables such as Very Good, Good, and so on, then this can be simply converted using a Likert scale. Therefore, this TOPSIS method is complemented by Hesitant Fuzzy Linguistic Term Sets (HFLTS). The results have shown that the DSS with the TOPSIS-HFLTS method can be used to provide an assessment for Academic Administration Staff so that it can be needed to determine Outstanding Academic Administration Staff.
