Abstract

This paper presents initial results of a three year initiative to develop and implement an approach to integrate cybersecurity topics into a computer science (CS) curriculum. Our approach injects cybersecurity topics and student learning assessment (SLA) into traditional CS courses, allowing faculty and students to see the connections between core CS topics and cybersecurity. At the end of year one, key deliverables produced include a curriculum planning document that categorizes the IAS (Information Assurance and Security) learning outcomes into core cybersecurity topics, teaching modules that describe ways to inject and assess cybersecurity content in various courses, and SLA documents that map IAS outcomes to courses and to cybersecurity topics.
