Abstract

The fruit and confectionery sorting industries both use Object Based Sorting extensively. This system presents an image processing approach for object detection and item sorting. The candies are sorted into certain bin baskets using a process once they have been detected. Here, we show how this system works with a camera that has an electronic circuit and three bins for sorting. To accomplish this, the system connects a Raspberry Pi to a controller circuit. A camera that is affixed to the controller circuit allows it to detect little objects in front of it. An object is fed into the camera chamber by means of a motor. The sorter receives a signal as soon as the object is detected. system that positions the sorting tube toward the appropriate portion using a motor. After that, the object is pushed toward the tubs by a feeder to be sorted, and the feeder pulls in the subsequent object. To maintain track of the quantity of objects sorted in each segment, the action data are transmitted to the IOT server via the iotgecko platform. This allows us to create an IOT sorting system that is fully automated.
