Next-Gen Seismic Safety:Leveraging IoT for Disaster Management

The project aims to improve personal safety during earthquakes by developing an IoT-enabled smart bed that can detect seismic activity and provide immediate protection. The bed automatically creates a protective enclosure using a network of seismic sensors and actuators in response to tremors, thereby safeguarding users, especially those in earthquake- prone regions, even while asleep. The system will incorpo- rate an alert mechanism to alert emergency teams, survival essentials for the users after the quake, and an automated approach that is designed to be reliable, easy to install, and low in maintenance, which would make it a practical solution for residents in high-risk areas.
