Abstract

This article illustrates how scouting practices can have a positive impact on the character-building of children and youth using Talcott Parson's social systems theory. Scouting provides hands-on experience through outdoor activities, community service, and learning practical skills. This article also highlights the important role of scout leaders who provide positive role models and guidance and reinforce scouting values. In this paper, the research approach applied is using literature analysis, referring to sources from accredited journals at both national and international levels. The focus of the study is to discuss the role of scouting as an effective tool in shaping the character of the younger generation. The results of active involvement in the scout movement are young people who are independent, brave, religious, leaders, and responsible. This article provides an in-depth insight into how scouting can be an effective medium in shaping the character of the younger generation, providing a solid foundation for personal improvement and positive contribution to society.
