Abstract
With regard to creating and maintaining their digital identities, underprivileged communities—like the Nubians in Kenya—have both opportunities and challenges as a result of the widespread use of digital technologies. In the framework of Kenyan Nubian communities, this research investigates the complex dynamics underlying digital identity. The obstacles they encounter are examined, such as problems with representation, accessibility, and cultural recognition in digital environments. It also looks into how digital platforms may improve Nubian visibility, engagement, and socioeconomic empowerment. This study provides insights into the complexity of digital identity formation and negotiation among Nubians in Kenya by utilizing qualitative research methodologies and theoretical frameworks from sociology and digital studies. In the end, it emphasizes the significance of inclusive digital policies and practices that take into account the particular unique needs and aspirations of marginalized communities in the digital age.
