Abstract
The article discusses the formation of subject-oriented and interdisciplinary digital collections in the project of the electronic library "Scientific Heritage of Russia". The types of digital collections are described and an approach to their use in the project of the electronic library "Scientific Heritage of Russia" is proposed. The rules of organization and presentation of subject-oriented and interdisciplinary digital collections in the information environment of the electronic library are considered. It is noted that for users of the "Scientific Heritage of Russia" electronic library, subject-oriented collections -sets of various digital objects relating, for example, to a person, phenomenon, or fact -are of considerable interest. Developed methods for the formation of virtual exhibitions on the basis of museum objects, archival materials and printed publications, and the subsequent placement of such collections in the information environment of the electronic library. Virtual exhibitions combine both theoretical knowledge and their visual confirmation. On the example of the virtual exhibition "Garden of Life", dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of I.V. Michurin, shows how to integrate digital copies of objects of library, archival and museum storage, presented in the form of texts, graphic images, audio-video objects, including three-dimensional objects.
