Abstract

The greatest inefficiency in today’s buildings is no longer architectural, mechanical, or thermal, it is digital. Buildings leak far more value through broken data flows than through drafts or insulation gaps, and this invisible loss undermines nearly every sustainability objective the sector has set for itself [ 1 ]. Although global initiatives emphasize advanced materials, intelligent controls, and low-carbon systems [ 2 ], the stubborn reality remains that even the most technologically equipped buildings cannot perform optimally when their underlying information chains are fragmented [ 3 ].
