Abstract

With the rapid proliferation of information, the ability to retrieve knowledge effectively from extensive documents has become increasingly critical. Traditional text splitting methods often compromise context and coherency, leading to suboptimal results in knowledge retrieval tasks. To address this challenge, we introduce SPARKS (Semantic and Page-wise Augment Knowledge Retrieval System), a novel approach that leverages semantic segmentation to preserve the contextual integrity of documents. By breaking down documents into semantically coherent chunks rather than arbitrary text blocks, it maintains the narrative flow and thematic continuity, crucial for understanding and querying complex documents. This paper elucidates the benefits of this approach and its potential to redefine knowledge retrieval paradigms.
