Abstract

This project aimed to design and implement a rural-based agricultural e-commerce platform in Zimbabwe, addressing the longstanding challenges faced by rural farmers in accessing markets, achieving fair pricing, and overcoming logistical hurdles. Through a user-centred design approach and collaborative stakeholder engagement, the platform was developed to connect rural farmers directly with consumers and broader markets. Key features include enhanced market access, improved pricing, a user-friendly interface, logistics integration, and training programs for farmers. The platform has demonstrated significant potential in transforming the agricultural sector, improving livelihoods, and contributing to economic development goals in Zimbabwe. This project documentation provides a comprehensive overview of the project's objectives, methodology, achievements, challenges, and recommendations for future work, serving as a valuable resource for stakeholders and researchers in the field of agricultural e-commerce and rural development.
