University Students’ Awareness and Perception of Artificial Intelligence Application in Nursing Education

Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly emerging across varioussectors, particularly higher education. AI is instrumental in improving educationalquality by strengthening communication skills, enhancing global connectivity, andsupporting curriculum development. Ultimately, AI promotes personalizedlearning, which leads to better academic performance. The aim of the study: Toassess university students’ awareness and perception of artificial intelligenceapplication in nursing education. Study design: The current study adopted adescriptive research design. Subjects: Random sample of a total of 500 studentswere enrolled in faculty of nursing, Menoufia National University. In differentacademic levels. Setting: The setting for the study was the Faculty of Nursing,Menoufia National University. Tools: Two tools were used for data collection.Data were collected using two instruments. Tool I: Students' awareness regardingArtificial Intelligence Questionnaire sheet. Tool II: Nursing students' attitudetowards application of artificial Intelligence in Education. Results: Over half(51.2%) of the students surveyed attained a satisfactory total level of awarenessconcerning the impact of AI on their academic achievement, while 35.8% of themhad semi satisfactory level and only 13% of them had unsatisfactory level. Theresult implies that Artificial Intelligence has a favorable influence on theacademic performance of the students in the study. Conclusion: Findings of thecurrent study concluded that, the students had significantly higher awarenessregarding the impact of artificial intelligence applications on academicachievement. Recommendations: Artificial intelligence should be includedpracticed in academic courses to enhance interactive learning and critical thinkingin studying
