Abstract: The rapid development of computer technology has had an impact on the global economy and has generally changed people and enterprises. This sophisticated insurgency has also led to an increase in online scams and budgetary extortion, posing serious risks to people, businesses, and financial education. This article examines how financial infractions and online scams have evolved in the modern era. It specifically examines common tactics including phishing, online installment extortion, cryptocurrency scams, social design attacks, and personality theft. The study examines the tactics employed by cybercriminals, examines the creative and psychological weaknesses that reveal victims, and evaluates the wider societal impact of these deceptive tacticsadditionally, it highlights the importance of regulations, cybersecurity developments, and open consciousness in combating online extortion. This article describes the problems caused by financial scams and online fraud. It also offers sensible solutions to lessen the effects of these transgressions in our increasingly interconnected society.
