This deliverable provides a structured comparative analysis of Ireland's National Persistent Identifier (PID) Strategy against the EOSC PID Policy and the Research Data Alliance (RDA) National PID Strategies Working Group and Interest Group outputs. The analysis was conducted to assess strategic alignment and identify potential gaps that may require attention as Ireland advances its national PID infrastructure. Using the RDA National PID Strategies Guide and Checklist as an analytical framework, this mapping exercise demonstrates strong alignment between Ireland's strategy and both the EOSC PID Policy and RDA guidance across key areas including vision, principles, governance structures and international engagement. The comparative mapping reveals that Ireland's approach is well-positioned within the international landscape of national PID strategies, aligning closely with EOSC requirements while reflecting the participatory, use-case-driven development process recommended by the RDA. Both Ireland's strategy and the EOSC policy emphasise sustainability, monitoring, and long-term governance, with Ireland's roadmap extending to 2030 and incorporating an annual review cycle. This analysis directly supports work funded under the May 2025 RDA TIGER Cascade Grant Scheme, awarded to Ireland's National Open Research Forum (NORF) and HEAnet. The findings inform subsequent deliverables, including a detailed gap analysis and the development of national PID recommendations that ensure technical and policy alignment with EOSC requirements while addressing Ireland's specific institutional context and priorities.
