Paper overview
Öz
IPv6, the successor of IPv4 is developed due to the rapid evolution of Internet and the complete depletion of IPv4 addresses. The incompatibility nature of IPv6 with its predecessor, paved way for several transition techniques proposed by the IETF. Though there are various tunneling mechanisms that are in practice, most of them are prone to security attacks. From the literature survey, it is quite obvious that it is high time to provide a secure architecture for tunneling. As a result, a novel secure architecture for tunneling mechanism is proposed in this paper. This secure architecture makes use of the elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) so as to provide data integrity, confidentiality and privacy.
