Abstract

Dracula, a horror novel authored by Bram Stoker in 1897, is about Count Dracula's quest to find blood and spread vampirism. Dracula is considered a classic, and with the emergence of the popularity of the Gothic fiction vampire story students have expressed a new interest in the genre. Students will access the open source public domain novel from Project Gutenberg, read in the text, utilize Java Collections to identify characteristics of the book, and output these properties in multiple views, such as a bar chart and textually. Lastly, the students will analyze this output and correlate it with Zipf's law.
