Reviewing the current status of sci-tech libraries resources

The author summarizes the results of the first stage of the All-Russian monitoring of sci-tech, special libraries and centers for sci-tech information in the aspect of their resources status. She interprets the term “resource” within linguistic and library professional context. The author emphasizes the unique character of the resources, their subject scope and multidisciplinary character, their integrity and comprehensiveness, and functional interconnectedness. The current statistical data on staffing, collections, licensed digital resources, as well as integrated library systems, are provided. The author indicates the major challenges for the federal sci-tech libraries development project.
